Long Overdue Update (May 09, 2008)
It has been some time since we added anything to the news page. We have been extremely busy since January with our own gigs and joining others for a couple one off's and we have been having a good old time. Now is our chance to update you on a few things:
We would like to thank the venues and audiences around scotland for their hospitality and support. It has been a pleasure meeting you all. We hope to see you all again soon.
As you will notice there has been no word on the Elton John show. This has taken a back seat for the moment due to time constraints but is not forgotten.
Our Debut album is selling well. We are really pleased with it and you the buying public have told us that you like it too, which always helps! We have discussed starting the second album soon for possible release at the end of this year or the beginning of 2009. To help us in our decision process we would like to ask you - the audience - to suggest any songs that you think we should include on the album, whether it is one's you have heard us sing or one's you think we could try. We might not manage to include them on this album but you just never know, we might just find some gem's that we never thought of, we could even include them in our set!
You will see on the site that we now have DAVE and GARY News pages, these pages are for us to tell you about other goings on outwith the world of Vortex. Whether it be Dave's Bouncy Castles or Gary's album of Alan Tomkinson's music, the story of us bringing pup's back from Stornoway to things that happened before Vortex and general ramblings from us. You never know it may even include a Vortex food and travel guide to the places we have visited. Be sure to check them out in the weeks to come.
I hope this has brought you a bit more up to date.
